Cool things to do online when you're home

I am sure you have been bombarded with a ton of learning websites and online classrooms (please visit my Google Classroom) over the past week but really, how many fraction games can you play until you just want to do something fun (sorry to my Math loving colleagues)?

When you need a break from the short story you are writing or the spelling words you are memorizing take a look at some of these cool things to do online!

These live cams are available 24 hours a day for a variety of different animals. The angles of the cameras move so you can follow the animals around. Also, there are Abe babies and they as so cute. These animals are so fun to watch as they are pretty silly. Take a peek at these cute creatures.

Mo Willems super famous children author of Elephant and Piggie books has been offering a daily drawing lesson online. So far he has released eight 30 minute lessons. Try out your skills and maybe you will be a famous illustrator in the future.

GoNoodle is available on all devises and is completely free to use. Teachers have been using this interactive mindful and movement platform for a few years now to get our students moving. GoNoodle has a huge number of short activities that are easy to follow for kids and teens. They also have an entire Mindfulness serious that helps with relaxation and breathing. You will be require to set up an account but after that it is free and simple to use. Here is a video of my 4 year old son playing on GoNoodle

Or at least take a virtual ride on many of the famous Disneyland rides. This is a pretty cool tour if I do say so. I have never been to Disneyland physically but now I can say I have check out the rides. Make sure to enlarge your scene and buckle up your imaginary seat belt when you take off on Space Mountain and stay inside the boat while you sail through It's a Small World. Have fun and make sure not to eat too much popcorn before getting on The Teacups.

If you love dinosaurs like I do this is a great adventure. The google maps tour of the Royal Tyrrell Museum is really cool. Pick a few of your favourite dino's before you go on your dinosaur hunt and then take a virtual stroll and try to find your dino's. Another idea is to count how many dinosaurs you can spy while taking the tour. Just try not to get bit while you are there!

In this unique time of self isolation it is a good time to explore fun places you may not have traveled or engage in new activities you haven't yet tried. Have fun with this new adventure. Be helpful, be mindful, be kind
